Dr. Surya Raj Acharya
Dr. Surya Raj Acharya is a distinguished Infrastructure Engineer, Planner, and Policy Analyst, with an extensive academic and professional background. He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from NIT Jamshedpur, a BA in Economics from Tribhuvan University, an MEng in Resource Management from the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, and a PhD from the University of Tokyo.
Currently, Dr. Acharya is a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Pulchowk Campus, where he shares his vast knowledge and experience with students. His career spans various prestigious roles, including positions with the Government of Nepal, the United Nations-ESCAP in Bangkok, and the Institute for Transport Policy Studies (ITPS) in Tokyo. Additionally, Dr. Acharya has contributed to academia as an Adjunct Professor at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo and as a Visiting Faculty member at the University of Tokyo. His expertise is widely recognized in the field of infrastructure, where he has made significant contributions to policy formulation, planning, and management, both in Nepal and internationally.
