Mr. Dobias is a Biodiversity Specialist with over four decades of experience in biodiversity conservation, environmental management, and sustainable development. Currently, he provides expert guidance at the Climate Change Center, National Research Council of Thailand, and serves as a Consultant and Biodiversity Specialist for the USAID Climate Ready Project at DT Global, assisting Tonga in finalizing its National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Framework in finalizing its National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Framework.
His career includes significant roles such as Senior Biodiversity Specialist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where he developed investment roadmaps and managed conservation projects across Asia. Dobias has also led multiple environmental and climate change initiatives, including establishing ADB’s Climate Change Coordination Unit and serving as Director of Gender, Social Development, and Civil Society Division.
His extensive contributions span roles with organizations like ADAPT-Asia, AECOM, Sida, IUCN, and the World Bank impacting countries such as Nepal, Thailand, Laos, and others. He began his career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Thailand and holds a BSc in Biology and Wildlife Management from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
