Prof. Dr. Mini Shaji Thomas

Dr. Thomas is a distinguished academic and leader currently serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) in New Delhi, India. Her previous role as Director of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli was marked by significant achievements, including enhancing the institute's national rankings and establishing major Centers of Excellence, such as a Rs. 190 Crore manufacturing center developed in collaboration with Siemens.
Dr. Thomas holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi and an M.Tech from IIT Madras, where she earned a Gold Medal. Her expertise spans power systems, SCADA, substation and distribution automation, and smart grids. Globally recognized for her contributions, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) and has been a past President of the Shastri-Indo Canadian Institute. Dr. Thomas is also a recipient of the IEEE EAB Meritorious Service Award and is renowned for her work in advancing research, innovation, and international collaboration.
