Prof. Dr. Sangeeta Singh
Professor, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University and Former member, National Planning Commission, Government of Nepal
Dr. Sangeeta Singh is a highly esteemed Professor in Urban Planning and the Director of the Centre for Applied Research and Development at the Institute of Engineering, with 26 years of teaching experience.
She has served as a Member of the National Planning Commission of Nepal and is a trustee at Gandaki University and Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology. Dr. Singh holds a PhD in Urban Planning, specializing in eco-cities, an MSc in Infrastructure Planning from the University of Stuttgart, and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Her extensive research in ecological urban planning, disaster resilience, and sustainable development includes leading the GCRF project “Tomorrow’s Cities” in partnership with the University of Edinburgh.
She has published extensively on eco-cities and sustainable development and has been a visiting scholar at Kyushu University, KU Leuven, and Tibet University. In addition to her academic work, Dr. Singh serves as Vice Chairperson of the Om Adi Foundation, which focuses on social welfare. Her contributions have been recognized with awards such as the “Dirgha Sewa Samman” and “Pragya Samman” from the Institute of Engineering and Tribhuvan University, and she received the best presentation award at the 2018 Gender and Education conference in Zurich.
