Prof. Dr. Shiva Raj Adhikari

Prof. Dr. Shiva Raj Adhikari serves as the Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission of Nepal. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. Dr. Adhikari is deeply involved in the academic and professional community, holding leadership roles such as President of the Nepal Health Economics Association and the Institute for Nepal Environment and Health System Development.
As a former Head of the Central Department of Economics at Tribhuvan University, Dr. Adhikari has significantly impacted health economics, policy design, and international research. His influence extends globally, with teaching positions at prestigious institutions like the Centre for Health Economics at Chulalongkorn University, the University of South Carolina (USA), and Chandigarh University (India).
Dr. Adhikari is widely recognized for his extensive publications and contributions to national and international economic and health organizations. He has been involved in several high-profile research projects, examining many issues relating to health policy and healthcare financing.
