The Nepal Infrastructure Summit 2024, jointly organized by the Government of Nepal, the
Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and the Confederation of Nepalese
Industries (CNI), in collaboration with the Office of the Investment Board and the Young
Entrepreneurs' Community of Nepal (YCN), has successfully concluded.
At the closing ceremony of the fifth edition of the conference, former Prime Minister
Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ emphasized the necessity of developing physical
infrastructure for the overall economic development of Nepal. He noted that the
government had recently created a conducive investment environment by reforming
certain laws during a previous investment conference. He expressed confidence that the
suggestions made during the infrastructure conference would be crucial for infrastructure
development, affirming the government's commitment to adopting and implementing
these recommendations.
CNI President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal highlighted that the conference facilitated in-depth
discussions on various topics, ranging from sustainable infrastructure practices to
innovative financial models, including the role of provincial and local governments in
infrastructure development. He stated that suggestions regarding the importance of
strategic investment to advance sustainable development in Nepal would be provided to
the government. Agrawal also mentioned that the conference had clarified the models
for infrastructure development, identifying practical aspects applicable in Nepal and
ensuring that infrastructure projects are sustainable both economically and socially, as
well as environmentally.
The closing ceremony featured remarks from CNI President Emeritus Binod Chaudhary
and Keshav Kumar Sharma, Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and
Transport. They noted that the conference had received significant insights from both
