Mr. Bhuwan Kumar Dahal
Mr. Dahal is a seasoned banking professional with over three decades of experience in Nepal's financial sector. He holds a Master's in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance and has authored several notable publications, including "A Handbook of Banking" and "Retirement at 50."
Starting his career at Nabil Bank, Nepal’s first foreign joint venture bank, Mr. Dahal rose through the ranks to hold key positions such as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Investment Officer, and Chief Operating Officer. He played a vital role in strategic planning, asset management, and operational efficiency during his 22 years at Nabil. He furthered his career as the CEO of Sanima Bank from 2014 to 2022, where he steered the young commercial bank through significant growth.
Beyond his corporate roles, Mr. Dahal has contributed to national financial policy by serving on various task forces at Nepal Rastra Bank and as President of the Nepal Bankers’ Association during the challenging COVID-19 period. His leadership helped maintain the stability of banking services during the pandemic.
Currently, Mr. Dahal dedicates his time to philanthropic activities as the Board Chair of Financial Literacy Nepal and serves as a pro-bono board member of institutions like the Kathmandu Institute of Child Health. He has traveled extensively across Nepal and internationally, enriching his insights into global finance and education. Mr. Dahal is also passionate about trekking, traveling, and sharing his experiences with others.
